some old B.E.A.M. BugBots
Through some other searches I stumbled upon these old, 2006-era B.E.A.M.-build BugBots taken by Bill Bumgarner and spotted in the MAKE group. I love looking at BEAMbots and the design choices that makers make in making them look like both robots and creatures of some sort:
