We are adding paid time off for our teams to help people 75 and older for computer help making appointments and more to get vaccinated, including getting them there and back safely. I am posting this up as it may help / encourage other employers to do so. Additionally, if you work at a company, sometimes it helps to send the management what other companies are doing so they can add new policies.

team,

the nyc vaccination site(s) are opening up for phase 1a/1b, including people over 75 years old, starting today.

the web site and appointment system may be a challenge for an elderly person to use. if you need to help someone such as a family member who is 75 or older, you can request up to 1 paid day off (8 hours).

this includes helping someone virtually (phone, etc.), and/or getting them to or from their appointment (please ppe up with any supplies needed).

if you need to use the pto, email * and your lead and schedule it in advance.

there will likely be nonprofits and charity organizations that start to help with this and team members can volunteer for that and use our usual paid time off for charity.

remote team members, work out any schedule / planning with limor and i as needed.

thanks,
pt
