San Antonio teen wins international drone competition #drone #droneday
This story almost sounds like it could be the beginning of a Last Startfighter reboot. Via NBC News:
Daniel Walston, 16-year-old, took first place in the “International Game of Whoop.” That’s the name for tiny drones. He outlasted 290 other pilots of all ages from across the globe.
“The last challenge I had to do was 40 power loops under 60 seconds,” Walston explained. “So what I would have to do was basically, there’s a gate I’d have to go through it and back over 40 times in under 60 seconds.” He said that particular skill test was dizzying.
