So You Found a Baby Bird, Now What?
Brooklyn’s Prospect Park shared this handy flow chart for baby birds on Facebook. This time of year it isn’t uncommon to find a baby bird by itself.
It’s baby bird season in Prospect Park, so we’re here with a friendly PSA. There are many reasons not to touch a bird that you spot on the forest floor. Baby birds with feathers are fledglings, which is the stage of birds’ life before they gain the ability to fly. It’s natural for fledglings to be on the forest floor, and likely that their parents are nearby.
