From the forums: Installing an LED light ring on a glue gun #AdafruitForums @Adafruit

From the Adafruit Forums, user DanGR wanted a light ring around their glue gun to better see where black glue was being applied.

I have a small USB powerbank to power the system, the Adafruit 2856 RGBW 16 Neopixel ring, the Adafruit 4472 USB connector and the Seeeduino Xiao. I won’t be using the header pins on the Xiao, I got some solid 0,8mm² wiring I’ll be soldering straight to the components.

We tried the ring yesterday at work for the first time on several glue jobs. It works great. With only the white led’s on, we had much improved visibility and this was in a location with a lot of indirect sunlight where it can be hard to see what you’re doing. We always apply black glue on black primer or black plastic surfaces. We do have proper lighting in the workshop, but working on big trucks, you can get a lot dark spots.

You can see the entire thread on how the project was developed in the forum thread here.
