Light Gestures by Timi Oyedeji #IOT
Light Gestures is a technical prototype for a method of introducing emerging gesture tracking technologies in order to invite more natural interactions between you and your smart home, using lighting as a case study. It asks you to imagine clenching your fist towards a set of living room lights to turn them off, or making a “shh!” motion towards your smart speaker with your index finger to turn the volume down.
IKEA has collaborated with Space10, a research lab on a mission to “create a better everyday life for people and the planet” to show off their latest series of experiments called “Everyday Experiments” or EE for short. Together, they are showcasing ideas and tools that help and educate people to find a better balance with technology.
In this particular experiment, Timi Oyedeji a multi-disciplinary Design Technologist from London has worked on this project. By utilizing emerging technology, his hope is to bring smarter, more meaningful everyday experiences to reality.
