Adafruit.io WipperSnapper Wednesday: NEW Components – Relay and Power Switch Tail #IoT #AdafruitIO

Unknown Reply 8:46 AM

Adafruit.io WipperSnapper – our no-code IoT platform – got an update this week! We’ve added two new components – a generic relay and a power-switch tail. Both of these components let you turn on-and-off fans, lamps, solenoids, and small appliances. You can add either (or both!) of these components to your existing WipperSnapper boards, without changing code or updating firmware.

Want access to the Adafruit.io WipperSnapper beta? Follow the instructions at the end of this post for beta access.

NEW COMPONENT: Relay -We added a generic relay component to WipperSnapper. Check the datasheet for the relay for the exact switching capacity, and then you can connect it to your WipperSnapper IoT project!

NEW COMPONENT – Power Switch Tail: We’ve also added a generic power-switch tail component to Adafruit IO WipperSnapper so your IoT project can control appliances without worrying about hazardous high-voltage wiring.

Join the Adafruit.io WipperSnapper Beta!

First – You’ll need a compatible board to use with WipperSnapper. WipperSnapper currently supports the following hardware: Metro ESP32S2, FunHouse ESP32-S2, MagTag ESP32S2, PyPortal, Metro SAMD51+AirLift.

Next – Navigate to the official Adafruit Discord Server (https://ift.tt/3xGaWre) and post in #help-with-adafruit-io that you’d like a WipperSnapper beta invite. We’ll message you over Discord with further instructions!

What is Wippersnapper? Wippersnapper is a no-code IoT interface for Adafruit.IO – it lets you turn any WiFi-capable board into an IoT device without any programming. Simply select what devices are connected to which pins on the hardware and it will auto-configure the firmware and even create an IO feed for visualization.
