Each Thanksgiving FeedingNYC aims to make a difference by delivering Thanksgiving meals to thousands of families in need.

Ladyada and I volunteer for this, last year we could not due to COVID related matters, but this year we were able to! Helping others means lots of things to lots of people, Ladyada likes to make “kits” of food that go to shelters and needy families in the New York area for Thanksgiving. I move heavy things, and break down boxes. We are both good at making and shipping “kits” – so go with your strengths as they say. We had a great time this year, some vid and pics…

Since 2001, FeedingNYC has provided nearly 90,000 Thanksgiving meals to families living in New York City shelters. Every year, our network of volunteers, donors, and sponsors unite to raise funds to buy, assemble, and deliver these boxes of meals throughout the five boroughs. This year marks our 20th Anniversary, and to meet our goal to provide 8,000 or more meals, it is crucial that we come together as a community to support families in need. Together with our nonprofit partners, donors, and generous sponsors, we ensure families receive not only a nourishing meal but kindness and support knowing they are cared for. These meals do more than nourish the body—they provide hope. On behalf of the thousands of families we serve annually, thank you for your support.
