Giving Tuesday – Kitsap Humane Society #GivingTuesday @KitsapHumaneSoc
Helping take care stray animals, and sometimes find them homes, is a cause so close to my heart. Adopting our stray 9 years ago was one of the best decisions of my life. Our rescue cat brings us endless joy! Kitsap is doing amazing work on this front. This suggestion came directly from an Adafruit team member who donates their time with Kitsap. Our team member writes:
I’ve been working with my local Humane Society to help save a colony
of cats that are feral. It’s a lot of work feeding them every day –
it’s over 14 cats – 20 if other strays need food that night – making
sure all are spayed, neutered and healthy, But it’s so rewarding. I
volunteer my time, but honestly, it’s better than any work I use to
get paid to do! One of the kitties has latched on to me, and I’m
about to take her home and try to make her mine. Her name is Echo –
she is a total ham!
Here’s some more about the organization directly from their page:
Kitsap Humane Society is a nonprofit, charitable organization that depends upon the kindness and generosity of its community to find homes for homeless pets.
We spay/neuter thousands of animals each year to prevent animal overpopulation and reduce the number of future homeless pets. Sheltering animals since 1908, Kitsap Humane Society envisions a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.
